The pre-bridal skin calendar: what to do, and when

Great bridal skin is planned, not rushed. Here is the week-by-week rhythm we follow with our brides, from eight weeks out to the morning of.

Most brides come to us with the same question: how early should I start? The honest answer is that skin renews itself roughly every four to six weeks, so anything you start in the final week is a quick fix, while anything you start two months out actually changes the canvas your makeup artist works on.

8 weeks out: the consultation

Book a skin consultation before you book anything else. We look at oil balance, tanning, pigmentation and sensitivity, and ask about the dates of every function, not just the wedding. A mehendi in the afternoon sun and a reception under warm lights need slightly different preparation.

  • Bring a list of the products you use now, including sunscreen.
  • Mention any reactions you have had to facials or bleach in the past.
  • Agree on a plan with fixed dates so nothing new is tried in the last fortnight.

6 to 3 weeks out: the facial series

This is where most of the visible change happens. A series of two or three facials, spaced about ten days apart, builds clarity and glow gradually. For tanned or uneven skin we often lean towards brightening ranges; for oily or acne-prone skin, oil control comes first.

Stylist tip

Do a patch test with any new range at least 48 hours before your first full facial. Fifteen minutes now saves a lot of worry later.

2 weeks out: lock it in

Stop experimenting. No new actives, no new peels, no first-time waxing on the face. Your final facial should sit five to seven days before the wedding, giving any redness time to settle while the glow is at its peak.

“The best bridal base is the one that barely needs correcting. That work happens weeks before the makeup chair.”

The week of the wedding

  • Hydrate well and keep sunscreen non-negotiable, even indoors.
  • Sleep matters more than any serum.
  • Keep threading and cleanups at least 48 hours before each function.

When you are ready to plan, call or message us with your function dates and our bridal team will map out the calendar with you.
